I think we're
going to be friends.
I remember when I first began shooting, being in awe of how differently I perceived the world. Through the power of engineering, this tiny piece of metal, plastic & glass created a filter for which I could express myself. Everything took on a story, new meaning. And I do mean everything. Thankfully, the digital age allowed time (and little money) for exploration.
Fast forward several years later, and I took on my first wedding. Five years later, K.Donohue Photography has grown into and incredible business that I have had the joy of growing. And that is most directly because of the wonderful clients and friends!
A Manhattan Beach native, I spent what felt like a lifetime oceanside, sketching and painting. Time would come to leave the nest, and Cal Poly bound I would go. Little would I know that San Luis Obispo would steal my heart, and become a place I call home (much to Mama Don's dismay). After several years in Architecture, I switched to a major in Psychology and a concentration in Marketing & Graphic Design, including any photography classes I could sneak into my curriculum (shout out to my professors for giving in to my stubborn self every time I crashed a class).
The way my psychology, graphic design, and photography worlds collided in the following years could best be described as serendipitous. I now work for a local non-profit using my PR and design skills to help bring good will to the people if San Luis Obispo County. If you want to know more about that, I'm always game for a cup o' joe!
If you made it this far, you deserve that cup o' joe! Thank you for learning a little about my journey. I'd love to know more about you too. Don't hesitate to reach out with a question or inquiry. I'm always free for a quick chat or a bite to eat.
And last but not least, thank you to my friends, family, mentors and current clients. I've been lucky enough to call my clients, friends, over the past five years. As put by Desmond Tutu, "My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together."
